Kamaro'an
The name, which means “a place to live,”comes from the language of the Pangcah people— an Indigenous community from Taiwan’s east coast.
Kamaro’an was founded in 2013 as a research initiative focused on documenting Pangcah cultural artefacts and daily life. In 2015, it evolved into a brand specialising in handcrafted accessories that seamlessly combine traditional techniques with modern design, creating timeless, handwoven pieces of exceptional quality.
Their work focuses on how objects are shaped, used, and passed down through generations. The in-depth research informs their collections, fostering a meaningful connection with the Pangcah community and honouring Austronesian weaving traditions.
Each item is meticulously handcrafted in their studio by Pangcah artisans, offering a seasonless collection that seamlessly integrates cultural heritage with a modern aesthetic.
