The end of August is always marked by a mix of pre-nostalgia for the long summer days that have already started to shorten (and holidays sadly coming to an end...) and a thrill for the season that is about to begin. Parcels have not stopped to arrive, swiftly filling the shop with beautiful garments we cannot wait to show you...
A brand that never fails to impress is A.P.C. that for AW16 has definitely something interesting in store for us. From warm colours to velvety and metallic textures, there's a contemporary 70's vibe in this urban chic collection by the cult Parisian brand.
Another French brand we could not live without, Chloé Stora, has chosen to fill her AW16 winter colour palette with different shades of grey, brown and dark navy. Linear shapes, chunky or fine and elegant knitwear and tailored coats and blazers are at the core of a collection that does not lack the characteristic boyish style skilfully embellished by feminine details. A pretty viscose knee-length skirt has already become a favourite, thanks to its simple design and understated pattern of elegant vertical stripes.
The hunt for a new winter coat has suddenly got easier with the arrival of Lardini AW16 collection. The choice is between beautifully oversized or tailored shapes, the simple warmth of wool or the preciousness of velvet, black, navy tones or a contemporary green check. No one can resist the quality of Italian sartorial expertise. Final touch is a playful flower detail there to discretely embellish a classic notch lapel.
This season, Italian brand Pomandére pictures us all as wild Icelandic princesses with a selection of floaty dresses and skirts in understated and relaxed shapes that are irresistible. Lengths are full and fabrics are soft and cosy, while the colour palette favours grey and white warmed up by touches of vintage pink and mustard.
After an explosive summer season, queen of ethical fashion, Stella Jean comes back with more pleasant surprises. Playful knits, family portraits to remind us of or ancestors and the importance of history are found alongside the usual yet still unique myriad of geometric and African-inspired prints that are part of the Italian-Haitian designer's signature style.
AW16 collections are now in store and will be coming soon online.
